Coronavirus!

As a travel provider to the corporate market we are seeing a sharp rise in travel being cancelled by our clients due to the worry over the Coronavirus.

How are you dealing with the outbreak

Are you still travelling for work or pleasure?

What precautions are you taking?

I would love to hear your thoughts

  • I have a holiday booked next month.. I am going! Even if I have to wear a mask and goggles when travelling haha.

  • Not too concerned about travelling personally, just take suitable precautions. Concern is how do employers handle the situation!

Take the Tenerife situation, if an employee comes back from the hotel affected will their employer tell them to quarantine themselves for a further two weeks for fear of infecting the rest of the staff. If this is the case will they get paid?

    • Good Question Keith, 2 weeks is a long period to go unpaid potentially for nothing if it turns out you're not infected with the virus!.

  • Not sure how this looks yet for me.  Even down to holidays later in the year could be affected (do I go - do I stay)????.  How do travel companies compensate for a worlwide pandemic??  You can't live your life in fear but you have to be sensible about your decisions.

My parents in law are in Tenerife at the moment and there is large panic on the island due to the way that holidaymakers try to pack lots in whilst on holiday visiting lots of places with lots of people.

    • It's a worry, its certainly made me out my holiday plans on hold for the moment.
