My last two discussions have focused on gaining CLARITY for your business through identifying your VALUES and knowing your WHY, both of which should feed your business strategy or your HOW.

Perhaps you have spent some time reflecting during lockdown and realise the business “didn’t quite feel right”.  Now could be the perfect time to revisit your strategy for moving forward.

I think of strategy as being a set of principles that provide a framework or boundaries for making decisions – whether it is who you partner with or the type of customer service you want to provide. They keep your business on the right track and keep it feeling ‘like you’.

Personally, I resonate with the following definition:

“A good strategy provides a clear roadmap, consisting of a set of guiding principles or rules, that defines the actions people in the business should take (and not take) and the things they should prioritize (and not prioritize) to achieve desired goals.” (Ref 1)

As lockdown restrictions begin to ease across the UK, businesses will start to operate again and now is a good opportunity to remind yourself of the strategy or HOW – revisit and refresh so that it feels right in the future.
