I have been inundated with clients asking me the same concerns (understandably!) this morning so thought I would share here incase anyone is not able to get a hold of their solicitor or hasn't had the time to ask.
If you are wondering if contact between you and your children where they live with your ex partner should operate, or if you are unsure whether to give your children to your ex partner under the new government restrictions, the government guidance states "Where parents do not live in the same household, children under 18 can be moved between their parents' homes." Feel free to share with any people it may concern. Moving house in the next few days? I have had several calls about this and Michael Gove confirmed this morning if you are due to move this week and everything is still ok to go, then it is sensible to proceed with that so long as social distancing is adhered to. Anything after this week should be cancelled or discussed with your solicitor.

Thanks for sharing Tom, we have friends due to move house on Friday and don't know what to do so I will pass on your post.
Also, our son is in the process of buying his first flat and had an entry date of 17 April so it looks like this will be on hold...which is the sensible thing to do obviously.

No problem. Since my initial post things have moved quickly (as expected) and the latest information on what solicitors can do is on Law Society of Scotland page under coronavirus updates so that will be best for your friends to keep an eye on with the latest restrictions!
