Here's a handy tip for anyone that uses Excel, or any other MS Office, and hasn't come across the Format Painter before.  Personally I use it a lot and think it's one of the best tools in the Excel box.

In summary the Format Painter allows you to copy formatting from a cell (or group of cells) to another section of the spreadsheet. It's a quick and easy way to apply your existing formatting without having to manually set up the the number formatting, alignment, font, border, and patterns for the cells.

For example only cell A2 in column A is formatted in the table below.  By clicking the Format Painter and pulling the cursor down to Row 11 you see the result in Column C.  It's that easy!
