Digital Infrastructure Minister Matt Warman announced during London Tech Week that Government funding of £500,00 has been announced through a new scheme which is to boost small and medium healthcare providers with improved cyber security.

Both small and medium companies who are either healthcare providers, medical suppliers or primary care providers are being invited to apply to the scheme which will provide the costs to be covered for the consultancy and certification of Government Cyber Essentials.

There has been an increase in cyber threats to the UK, particularly the UK health sector. The increase is in attempting to gain access to information and research around Covid-19. The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) highlighted threats and has offered more protection to those involved and we have highlighted these in our previous articles.

What Is The Government Cyber Essentials Certification?

It is an effective yet simple scheme to help you protect your organization, regardless of size, against a whole range of the most common cyber-attacks. Cyber-attacks come in various shapes and sizes, but the majority are very basic and carried out by relatively unskilled individuals. They’re the digital equivalent of a thief trying your front door to see if it’s unlocked. The program is designed to prevent these attacks.
