How well do you know me?

I am in the middle of scheduling this month's Contact Builder meetings.  I always look forward to meeting ABN contacts!

We continue to be in such different times and I think many of us are truly beginning to understand just how important these personal connections are, as we adapt to new ways of working.

So, in order for you to know me a wee bit better, I decided to share a bit more about Gillian Margaret Ann Watt (don't often use the middle names!!)

1. Where was I brought up? Tarland - I tell everyone that Tarland is the centre of the world! I also lived in Aboyne during my school years.

2. First pet? Rex - a golden labrador who slept by my pram and never left my side.

3. Siblings? One sister - I'm the oldest

4. Favourite colour?  Depends on my mood, time of the year, season - Purples, greens, reds....

5. First part-time job before 'real work'? Tattie picking - back breaking work.  I was part of a strike one year.  We knew we were the poorest paid in Deeside and upturned our tattie buckets at the appointed hour, while our 'union rep' talked to the farmer. We won! 50p extra per day.  Think it was about £3.50 per day.  Yes, I am that old!!

6. First 'real job'? Musician in Disneyland, CA, USA - After two music degrees in flute performance and years of practice, I dressed up as a sailor and played piccolo in the 'Sailor Band' for the 30th Anniversary parade in Anaheim! Disneyland was truly the happiest place I have ever worked.

7. Who have I not met? a. Peter Gabriel  2. Carrie Gracie 3. James Galway  4. The Queen  5. Jonathan Brownlee 6. Terry Waite

  • All good to know, Gillian! And most impressed with the successful union action at the tatties!

    • The funny thing is that I have avoided unions that take strike action in my adult life!
