I've recently started experimenting with baking using wholemeal flour - made banana loaf, scones (both adapting existing recipes) and carrot cake (using a recipe on the back of the flour packet).

Since I've not posted anything baking related since the new website launched... when baking do you use a particular type of flour? Or do you just buy any flour? Do you go for a value brand, or is there a particular brand of flour you like using? :-)

  • These look really good Simon. I used to bake when I was younger but not done it for years. My favourite was making rock buns with bits of chocolate etc in it. Don't think I put a lot of thought into the flour to be honest and just went with the recipe and probably the cheapest one
    • I've previously been the same with flour - just going for the supermarket own brand versions, although have noticed slight differences with the different brands. Never made rock buns - on my (very long) list of things to try! :-)
