There are a lot of ways that you can get your name across on the site, let's go through the best ways of getting your name onto the homepage:
Post your own discussion - straight up to the top of the discussion!
Commenting on other members content - introduce an easy routine which only requires 5 minutes of dedication a day
Post a video or blog - less visibility than posting a discussion, but will still appear on the homepage!
Publish an event - upcoming events appear on the homepage and in 'recent activity' when you publish
Write a status - Teeny tiny slice of visibility when you write directly into 'recent activity'
