What do you need to show on your website...

We have had a bit of a debate here about what information you need to show (or should show) on a company website. There are different rules for limited companies and not everything will be applicable, but what about registered office address, trading address, company number, VAT number, money laundering number etc. We all put our phone number and email address on our website but what about these other things? Also, should your phone number be a landline number or is a mobile number acceptable now, and is a fax number even necessary? I would be interested to hear your thoughts!

  • And don’t forget the wonderful GDPR privacy policy!
There was a time when only a mobile phone number suggested a “fly by night”, I don’t think that stigma still applies.
  • You'd want to have your primary address and telephone number (along with the JSON markup) displayed for NAP consistency, but certainly showing extra information such as your VAT number, AML number etc will be beneficial if your targeting business customers.

I think it's safe to say, you cannot put too much information.
