Hi all,

I've joined https://www.elevatoruk.com/accelerators/ as an "agitator", i.e. an advisor where you donate your time to help startups.

I've had two great calls today and yesterday with a couple that are creating an "app".

Regardless of the idea, if you could give one piece of your hard earned experience, what would that be? In other words, if you could tell your younger self one thing in relation to business, what would that be?

Thanks,

Gavin.

  • Well done! Speaking to someone who has been on a similar journey will be so helpful with new start-ups.   I am a couple of years into my business and I think the word 'Patience' comes to mind for others about to start on their journey! Hard work and lots of patience!  But it IS worth it!

  • I would let him know the importance of connecting with people and using every opportunity to broaden your knowledge and your view of the world.

  • Find other businesses and people who can mentor you

    • Good shout!

  • Make sure that your 'default' diary is in place! Plan every minute of your working day!

    Find an accountability partner!

  • Well done Gavin. always great for start ups to have enough help. in my day i did a lot on my own which made it hard. lol

    1) So I would say build yout network. people do business with who they like and then a great service then seals the deal for repeat.

    2) Take your brand seriously and get it right. i.e your logo (most important), brand voice, workwear etc.

    All the very best.

  • Well done Gavin, i'm sure your expertise is greatly appreciated!!

  • You'll be a braw agitator, Gavin!

Just one?? Keep building your network, with good people always at the centre
