After a few years of getting to know many of the ABN Community through the 10 groups and various other ABN events, I must admit I've not been great at the online side of things and Andrew has been very patient with me!  So here I am, in my new position of Community Fundraising Co-ordinator at North East Sensory Services (NESS) and the start of my ABN online activity!

NESS had to close the doors of the Resource Centre on John Street in March, which was a hard decision as it's a social hub for a lot of our services users, where they gather for a chat with their friends, get involved in activities, pick-up equipment, information etc. etc. So, first and foremost support for them was our priority, our field workers are in touch with them on a daily basis, making sure they have everything they need from hearing aid batteries to their prescriptions, advice and support to make on-line claims and sometimes any shopping that they may need.  One of our services users missed the sound of a piano being played, so our field worker got her daughter to play him a tune over the phone and made one man very happy!  So as much as we can we are still there for our service users on a daily basis!

With events being cancelled our fundraising activity has moved to our on-line forums and we have a fantastic opportunity for two winners to win an Ultimate Night In package.  NESS would be very grateful for any support you could give, please follow the link www.justgiving.com/fundraising/nessultimatenightin to see the full information on how to enter and what's included in these fantastic packages!   5161893659?profile=RESIZE_710x
