Good afternoon everybody,
As I sit at my computer, anxiously awaiting another announcement from the First Minister, I feel optimistic about the future of business in Scotland. We have come a long way since this virus first disrupted our day to day working routines and many lessons have been learned. I really do feel for the business owners that have had to cease trading and employees that have been made redundant due to the pandemic, but there will be light at the end of the tunnel. A skilled worker will find new opportunities and business owners have had the experience of running a business, they will have another opportunity at it when the dust settles. I know this sentiment doesn’t mean much to people in the present, but I do believe that if we stick together, we can still succeed.
Why did I come up with the statement above? I truly believe that any success worth having is the journey that you can take people with you on. If I have a client that has a need for a skilled tradesman and I know a skilled tradesman that has recently been made redundant, why wouldn’t I make that connection? Making new connections is paramount in succeeding in new business, but I firmly believe that keeping in the loop with your past and current connections is equally important as you never know where the next business opportunity may be. That’s why I joined the ABN. I am new in the area and I’m not looking to make quick connections to add to my pipeline, I am looking to build relationships and share a journey in success.
